Peter Eigen visits Nigeria
The president of Transparency International (TI) Peter Eigen will becoming to Nigeria for a two-day visit (February 13-15) on the invitation of the Federal Minister of Finance,
Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.

During his visit to the country, Peter Eigen will have dinner with some civil society leaders. It is expected that he will respond to president Obasanjo’s repeated critism of TI’s corruption perception index (CPI)

The Budget Transparency Network (BTN) will hold a two day workshop from February 9-11 to review and make input into the draft legislation on Budget Roles, Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Implementation, monitoring and compliance commission.

The workshop will take place at Nicon Hilton Hotel Abuja the BTN is established with a vision of a Nigeria where budgeting and public resources management responds to the demands of citizens. BTN’s mission is a commitment to deepening and sustaining democracy and good governance in Nigeria through the budgeting process. Membership is open to civil society groups in Nigeria that have interest in budgeting and are committed to the vision, mission and values of BTN.
